| My interests in coping and stress, intergroup interactions,
and biological psychology have guided my research program into two broad
areas: (a) intergroup relations and stigmatization, and (b) effects of emotion
and stress states on cognitive processing, behavior, and physiology. I use
a multi-method approach to explore these questions including physiological
responsesÑelectromyography, autonomic reactivity, neuroendocrine responses,
electroencephalography, and startle reflexÑnon-verbal responses, cognitive
performance, and self-reported emotions and appraisals. My research considers
the full scope of human development from infants to octogenarians to understand
the development of stereotyping and biases, and the influence of stress on
decision-making. |
