On the following pages are short segments of conversations between parents and their children. Each page is a separate conversation involving a different parent and child. The parent's speech has been removed so that you are only reading one side of the conversation.

Please read the conversations one at a time while thinking about the age of the child speaking.

The children in this study range greatly in age. You will be asked to choose the age of the child from the range of 12 months to 6 years. But not all ages will be represented.
