David Langer, Ph.D., is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Judge Baker Children’s Center, Harvard Medical School, and the Department of Psychology, Harvard University. His research explores the efficacy and effectiveness of evidence-based psychosocial treatments for youth psychopathology, the processes through which psychosocial treatments work, and the applicability of the research literature to non-research clinical settings. He is interested in developing novel ways to match effective treatments to youth with significantly impairing mental health needs and is working toward this goal with his JBCC colleagues under the mentorship of Dr. John Weisz. Dr. Langer received his B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2009. While at UCLA, he was fortunate to work with many talented mentors including Drs. John Weisz, Jeffrey Wood, Joan Asarnow, and John Piacentini. His dissertation, Youth Psychopathology and School/Clinic Service Use was funded by an Individual National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Mental Health. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in child psychology at the UCLA Semel Institute and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital.
