Biography: Amy Sommer is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University in J. Richard Hackman's Social and Organizational Psychology Laboratory. She received her Ph.D. in Business Administration, specializing in Organizational Behavior, at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She completed her Master of Industrial Relations, focusing on Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, at the University of Toronto. Her B.A. (Honors) is in psychology from the University of Western Ontario.
Research Interests: Sommer's research focuses on team and leader effectiveness and resilience, particularly during organizational crisis situations. Specifically, her research investigates four areas: (a) health care, (b) team dynamics and coaching, (c) decision-making, and (d) creativity. She examines multiple levels of analysis and use various research methods in both laboratory and field settings.
