Active Directory @ William James (WJH-AD)
William James Hall operates and maintains a Windows Active Directory environment for the use by all departments served by WJHCS. An Active Directory (AD) account is required for you to be able to access public computing labs at William James. Your account may also entitle you to other beneficial features, such as WJH printing and secure, backed-up, network file storage.
Accessing my network files
Users with network storage may access their files anywhere on the Harvard network. On machines connected to WJH-AD directly, your network shares should be atomically mapped when you log in and our accessible via "My Computer" in Windows or form the Dock in OS X. If you would like to access your files form your personal computer, or a computer not joined to WJH-AD, please contact the WJH Helpdesk for assistance.
