Biographical Note

Born at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge and raised in Watertown, LAUREN DYE has been working in the Sociology Department since 2000. Previously, she lived in Portland, Oregon for 10 years while she got her bachelors degree in graphic design from Portland State University, and worked for the State of Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. Previous to that she was a flight attendant for 19 years with Eastern Airlines based here in Boston. At Harvard Commencement 2011, Lauren proudly received her ALM degree in Celtic Languages and Literature. She also loves gardening and sharing her home with Aengus, the Jack Russell Terrier, and new arrivals, Merlin, a handsome grey tabby who adores Aengus, Raven, a magnificent and regal black with green eyes who accepts limited petting, two abandoned adoptees: Una and Satchmo--both huge Tabby's, and Diesel, a new orange tabby kitten with double paws. He likes to run around teasing the other cats AND Aengus! She is now the official self-proclaimed "Mad Catwoman of Littleton, MA." Lauren is a frequent visitor to England, and on several occasions has attended the Summer Solstice celebration in Stonehenge.
