Biographical Note

Turco's research examines contested meaning and cultural dynamics in organizations, occupations, and markets. Her master's paper "The Cultural Foundations of Tokenism: Evidence from the Leveraged Buyout Industry" won awards from both the Organizations, Occupations & Work and Sex & Gender sections of the American Sociological Association, and it was published in the American Sociological Review. She holds an AB in Economics, an MBA (Baker Scholar), and an AM and PhD (awarded May 2011) in Sociology from Harvard University.
