Biographical Note

Ben Snyder grew up in Sanger Texas, a small community near Dallas. He attended the University of Oklahoma where his interests in sociology became stratification and race. His undergraduate thesis involved measuring racial progressiveness across different major programs. The paper was also the basis for Ben’s participation in the Oklahoma Sociological Association, as well as the American Sociological Association’s undergraduate honors program. While at the University of Oklahoma Ben was also an organizer of Bring ‘Em Home, a campus anti-war group, as well as Our Earth, a local environmental organization. Ben’s interests in sociology involve economic and political sociology, quantitative methods, and race.
