Biographical Note

Rupert Russell graduated top of his class from Cambridge University, Jesus College, with Triple-Starred First Class BA Honors in the Social and Political Sciences. He was the first student ever to receive this distinction. The recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, he is currently an affiliate of the The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Born and bred in England, Rupert holds dual UK-US citizenship.

Rupert is currently engaged in three related projects. First, in collaboration with Ethan Fosse, he is using historical and survey-based data to examine the political economy of the war of ideas in the post-war United States. Second, based on historical data, he is working on an account of the institutionalization of the Right and Left in American politics. Finally, he is working on a documentary film exploring contemporary family structures in the United States.

Rupert is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post.
