Biographical Note
Lauren Rivera is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Sociology. Her primary research interest is understanding processes of status signaling and evaluation - specifically, how people evaluate the social standing of individuals and organizations, and how actors use self-presentation techniques to alter perceptions of their own status. Her work bridges cultural, economic, and psychological approaches. Before coming to Harvard, Lauren worked as a marketing strategy consultant at Monitor Group in London.
