Biographical Note

The 2009-10 year is my first in the department. Before coming to Cambridge I have lived in Ithaca, NY; Boulder, CO; and State College, PA. My family is entirely Indian and I am a second generation immigrant to the United States. As hobbies I enjoy racket sports, singing, cycling, writing, and comedy.

I think that it is better to shoot for 10 and get 6 than to shoot for 5 and get 5. Shooting for 10, these are my preliminary research goals:

1. Global Health and Development
-->Understand and analyze fertility patterns, development levels, cultural barriers to change, and attempted interventions in places facing hunger, malnutrition, and lack of healthcare
-->Evaluate past interventions and make recommendations for future interventions that address the above problems

2. Marriage
-->Study what systems and methods of meeting lead to successful unions/marriages
