Kyoko Sato

Lecturer on Sociology

Biographical Note

Kyoko Sato will be a Lecturer on Sociology during the spring 2012 year and will also be teaching in Harvard's Committee on Degrees in Social Studies for the year. Dr. Sato received her Ph.D. in sociology from Princeton University, an A.M. degree in journalism from New York University, and A.B. in English from the University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on the ways in which culture and politics intersect and mutually constitute in different national contexts. In her dissertation she explored how the meanings of genetically modified food developed and shaped politics and policy developments in Japan, France, and the United States.
