Grading
Overview
Theses will be graded in Latin symbols: summa, magna plus, magna, magna minus, cum plus, cum, cum minus, or unsatisfactory. Grades for the written component will be reduced for late submissions: one grade step for each three days after the deadline. The thesis grade is normally a composite of your supervisor's and your reader's grades. Your committee will submit a joint overall thesis grade after your poster defense, with the written thesis counting 80% of the overall grade and the poster defense counting 20%. You will not receive separate written and poster grades.
