Faculty Mentor Assignments, Spring Term 2008
Faculty Mentors provide strategic advice about the discipline and your interests within it, research and other opportunities, and graduate study. Participating in the Mentor program gives students access to experts in their field. There are a number of ways to choose a Mentor: consult the departmental website's faculty information pages, which contain links to their personal and laboratory research webpages; consult with your Concentration Advisor; ask the Undergraduate Office staff to make referrals; shop/register for classes of faculty whose research areas interest you.
Concentrators may choose to be active or passive program participants. Active Mentees will be contacted for individual or group meetings with their Mentors; passive Mentees, while assigned a Mentor, will not. Choosing the latter is recommended for students who, while not needing a meeting at present, might wish one at some point in their undergraduate tenure.
Spring Mentor Request forms are due from students by Friday, 8 February - assignments will be e-mailed to you in about a week. |
