Administrative Staff

Daniel Schacter (Rm. 234, 5-3800) is the current Department Chairman. The chairmanship is rotated among senior faculty members, who normally hold the post for 3 years. If you have questions about any Departmental policies or their administration, speak to Dan or to Elizabeth Lambert.

Elizabeth Lambert (Rm. 230, 5-3909 or 5-3800) is the Director of Administration, overseeing the administration of the Department. Liz is assisted by Irene Hartford and Barbara Anderson.

Celia Raia (Rm. 210, 5-3810) is the Department's Graduate Officer. She maintains student records, advises students of requirements, appoints Teaching Fellows, assigns student office space, organizes the agenda of the Committee on Higher Degrees, supports the admissions committee, and helps sort out financial aid. 

Shawn Harriman (Rm. 260, 5-3712) manages the Undergraduate Office. He works with the Head Tutor (the faculty member responsible for undergraduate psychology concentrators) and with the Committee on Undergraduate Instruction (CUI). Shawn is assisted by Tom Barnard and Margaret O'Grady. The office is also staffed one day per week by Chris Soutter, who does student advising.

Richard Kaufman (Rm. 150, 5-3858) is Librarian of the Psychology Research Library and the Social Relations Library. He is assisted by Mark Gleykin, as well as by part-time students. Richard works with the Department's Library Committee on acquisitions, trying to utilize our limited budget in the best way. Requests for new books or journals should go to Richard. He is assisted by a number of part-time undergraduate and graduate students.

Financial Administrator Barbara Bontempo (6-8191) and assistants Kelly Collette (5-3912), Christopher Nicholson (6-8169), and Kathleen Kaufman (6-2590) in Rm. 240 run the Psychology Business Office. They handle everything fiscal: all Department budgets, grants and contracts, the casual payroll, purchasing, supplies, phone bills, graduate student research funds, photocopying, etc.

William James is managed by two men: Manager of Building Facilities Herbert Fuller and Manager of Building Services Bill Santoro (Rm. 260, 5-3801) Not part of the Department; Herb and Bill run the Center for Behavioral Sciences (CBS). They are assisted by Staff Assistant Sergey Gleykin.  These men manage William James Hall: classroom assignments, phones, security, mail, parking,  repairs, furniture, etc. Building mail is handled by delivery people from University Mail Service. The Center publishes Connection, a weekly newsletter of happenings within the building. Occasional Friday afternoon Sherry Hours are run by Herb and Bill.
